FedEx has suspended deliveries to Black neighborhoods in Chicago, ostensibly in response to unrest, but in reality those suspensions aren’t correlated to crime or protest, just race.

In rural america, meanwhile, we will die without the postal service. People rely on it for everything, from bills to medications, because unlike the for-profit shippers the postal service has to go everywhere, no matter what.

All of this in a country where broadband access isn’t guaranteed and cell service is spotty, either because of a lack of infrastructure or the expense of the tech & the phone/internet bill.
