    Thoughtful piece. I've received nasty emails & personal attacks for criticising the insect apocalypse saga. Yes, I've worried about my career. But the many colleagues who have supported me (publicly & privately) are stronger than the few nasties!

    Once we got back to Brians place he showed me his impressive insect collection. Brian works in construction and collects mostly alpine moths as a hobby, but his collection has become a valuable resource for research. He made all of the beautiful boxes and cabinetry himself.

    Brian found a velvet worm in the Eyre Mountains at 1400m which was pretty cool. Not sure if these critters have been recorded in this environment before
