Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick says there are too many entrances and exits to schools, and that is why shootings are able to happen. "Had there been one single entrance possibly for every student, maybe he would have been stopped."

What about exits? Fires? Panic runs when a shooting begins elsewhere? One exit isn’t practical for moving people in a safe and timely manner for any reason, but especially in a dangerous situation. I doubt it’s legal either. Fire Marshalls are not going to okay that.

At least in my high school, we had multiple doors, but all were locked from entry except one. All were available for exit. That being said, they should have alarmed those doors to stop someone from just opening one to let their friend in. That way fire code is safe.

The problem is people exist. If there were just no people, these innocent guns couldn’t keep being used incorrectly.

Hey I visit schools all the time for my non profit work. There is one entrance. Through the front. Literally everything else is gated ... most of the times with a resource officer nearby.. sooooooo

Not all schools are designed like that, unfortunately.

Literally every one I have visited is. Mostly to prevent truancy. Safety against this type stuff is just a bonus

It’s great that’s the case where you live. I work in an elementary school that is not like that and one that is. Have a middle and high school down the road that is not designed that way. Luckily the district is taking steps to fix that.

Rest of the world: we have no problem w/school shootings & mass murders,we have gun laws. USA: let’s give kids 1 door to escape & a bucket of rocks to fight their way to this single door where a gunman with a rifle will fire upon them all.But dont have abortions, that’s nonsense.
