My favorite Vietnam War book is “Dispatches” by Michael Herr who was a war correspondent there from 1967-69. NYT called it “The best book written about Vietnam.” Novelist John le Carre called it “The best book I have ever read on men in war in our time.” Haunting.

Love reading books on vacation. Blasted through Concrete Blonde (part of Bosch series by Michael Connelly). Loved it. Then reread “The things they carried” by Tim O’Brien, a story about a platoon of American soldiers fighting on the ground in Vietnam war. Great writing.
