3/ If other members of those boards expressed concern about serving with someone so implicated in the suffering and, likely the deaths of children here and abroad, maybe that would move the needle a bit. Naming and shaming is a wonderful way to exercise free speech.

I haven't been able to track down Lisa Selz's board affiliations, if any. And I'm happy that the couple has given away to so many arts and arts-related charities. That's great! But such largesse doesn't excuse the harm done by anti-vaxxing, and attn. can usefully be paid.

Of course. the same free speech I employ to excoriate the Selzes certainly is afforded to them: they can say what they want re vaccines, however foolish & dangerous. But freedom of speech is never free from response, including disdain in the settings most important to the speaker

6/And given the degree to which income disparity makes certain speakers, like the Selzes, so much more free to express their views than most of us, finding ways to speak in forms and fora that could perhaps influence them and the debate is vital...

7/ So yeah: any board member serving with either of the Selzes -- it might be a good time to think about whether you want to enable, even passively, people whose work is currently endangering the health and lives of children and adults around the world. Just a thought.
