I currently have two appeals running with them, and expect to hear back in as soon as 30 DAYS. I've also received multiple claims from them on many other films throughout the year they decided to release without a fuss.pic.twitter.com/k8yS6EiDsu

I'm THIS CLOSE to seeking legal counsel because it's beginning to border on harassment. The best we can do is hope that we're loud enough for them to realize they legally can do nothing to shut down people who talk about their films.
The thing is, I love movies. I love the whole process of making them and watching them. But it's these greedy companies that ruin the magic. @TeamYouTube I hope you're listening. The Fair Use Act of 1976 has held up in court as recently as LAST YEAR.
Clearly, this is not just a problem one of us is having. They’re harassing many other fine creators as well. @TeamYouTube perk up those ears and do something.
1. true story; I'm currently involved in an animated film project and our director uploaded the rough story reel to Youtube under Unlisted so that only crew members for the film can see it. it's not monetized or anything, it's JUST there so we know how scenes pan out.
2. anyways, the reel contains copyrighted music as temp music to be replaced by an original score for the official release. I'd like to stress that our director does NOT intend to use the copyrighted music for any benefit, it's just to set the tone for a scene. he's not profiting
3. off of it's inclusion in any way. Sure enough, WMG struck the UNLISTED VIDEO and made it so it's not viewable in my country. Now none of the animators outside the U.S. can view the reel and it's for no real justification. @TeamYouTube, you really need to fix your abusive systm
but it isn't infringing on their market and our director supported them out of his own wallet. temp music is a regular practice for film making; pretty much every film being made does it. the only reason it was claimed was because it's Youtube and it's infamous copyright system.
1. that's not how infamy works. 2. this does nothing to protect musicians rights because musicians rights aren't being infringed. their market is safe and their intellectual property isn't being stolen. it's an automatic strike that disregards the context of our production.
