Was the skull of Irritator on loan to the Museu Nacional? I thought that it was still at the SMNS in Stuttgart, Germany. I'm aware that some post-crania is probably lost but I hoped that at least the holotype was safe.
We still don't know what (if anything) made it through the Museu Nacional UFRJ fire, but here are two of the dinosaurs that were in the collections or exhibits: the original skull of the spinosaurid Irritator and the mounted skeleton of the titanosaur Maxakalisauruspic.twitter.com/rxhzn5lIve

It's a devastating loss for pterosaur workers. Not just because of all the holotypes but many exquisitely preserved specimens have been on loan to the MN.
