Coming up: the most extraordinary thread I’ve ever written. On how we blew over £150m and Andrew Mills (a Government adviser) seems to have made a fortune. But let’s start with introductions. THREAD /1

So I know this old bloke with a holiday home in Greece. He didn't vote for Brexit but his son is a massive Brexit supporter. The old guy, S., is furious that he will have to deal with new regulations. His son wants to bribe the local mayor. Should I call the police?

In answer to my question the Minister has confirmed that each glove is counted as a separate piece of PPE, so when they talk about 200 pieces of PPE, they mean a box of gloves. Just so everyone understands how little PPE was made available.

"Stay alert" is the pandemic's "Take back control." Its meaninglessness is its very point. It permits each of us to act just as we desire. And allows Government later (i) to deny permitting that which turns out to be bad (ii) to assert it urged that which turns out to be good.

Ironically I only just discovered that bucket lists are so called because it's a list of things you do before you kick the BUCKET, days before being sentenced to months of government-sanctioned house arrest and my chances of dying soon rocketed
