Toivo Klaar’s posts

Another horrible video has emerged of Armenian prisoners of war apparently being executed. If this video is proven to be authentic then this is a war crime that needs to be investigated and the perpetrators punished.

Today I have been sent several videos apparently showing war crimes committed against Azerbaijanis. Also these need to be investigated and if authentic perpetrators need to be held responsible. The conflict has left deep wounds on both sides and to heal accountability is needed.

Today advance team of 🇪🇺 monitors arrives in Yerevan. The 27 Member States have acted rapidly to respond to 🇦🇲 request. The aim of the 🇪🇺deployment will be to monitor the situation and support 🇦🇲-🇦🇿stabilisation on the ground.

Today there were again reports of three 🇦🇲 soldiers killed and one 🇦🇿 wounded. These and many other senseless victims feed hate and instability. Security is only truly possible if borders are respected and troops don’t face each other at close distances. Peace cannot be forced.

30 years since Soviet troops murdered civilians on the streets of Tbilisi. How little of that time or of those events is known in the West!

There’s a video circulating about an EUMCAP patrol observing the road leading to the Lachin Corridor. The patrol was then at a checkpoint about 1,2km from the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿border. EUMCAP, in line with its mandate, operates exclusively on 🇦🇲 territory and did not enter the Corridor.

A day that began with promise again ended in disappointment & frustration. As reiterated many times by the 🇪🇺, it is crucial that the flow of energy supplies be restored without restrictions, as well as the movement of people & goods via the Lachin corridor. 1/2
