let's not start using the term 'incel' as if it's a valid concept. it isn't. no one is owed sex. we already *have* a word for those who call themselves 'incel': 'misogynist'

Hate and misogyny are not mental health issues, but they are the header of this problem.
-
I think often times they are born of mental health issues. But you are right. Not always.
-
It's a possibility, but we have to remember that less than 3% of violent crime are committed by those with mental illness, & that they're more likely to be victims of violence & hate. We're doing a disservice, I think, if we excuse these men and their hate with "mental illness"

I can accept that.

I love civil internet discussions, thanks for that

Think of it as a cry for help.

I think ‘incels’ are much worse than misogynists. They are more dangerous and more deluded.Their outlook on the role of women in society is born of anger and frustration on a level that most misogynists never come close to.They higher levels of anger pose a greater physical threat

It would be wrong to assume people dangerous because they want sex and can’t get it. The term incel is useful, the attack on any who define themselves as such is not. Both sexes have plenty of people getting a lot less sex and intimacy than they desire. Both deserve compassion.
