Isn't this just what the app is technically *able* to do once it has your Twitter credentials? It doesn't mean it will ever actually *do* it unless you initiate it from within the app.

I don’t know. Maybe. Cold comfort if one has already agreed to doing it regardless.

This is actually a fault with
@TwitterAPI. As a developer you can only choose between “read” and “write” for your app’s permissions. So if your app ever needs to tweet on behalf of a user, twitter shows this entire prompt. Fantastically annoying. -
I wonder under what circumstances a typical user would want an app to Tweet on behalf of a user?

Patreon is well known for its non-neutral policing, too. There are alternatives (I think subscribestar works nicely?) Hope you go ahead with something like this though, great idea. Would support

Thanks + yes.
@SamHarrisOrg and@RubinReport among others have highlighted valid concerns with the platform. I was willing to kinda tolerate their obtuse politics...but this sort of intrusion and control seems beyond the pale.

This reflects badly on the current political climate. But Patreon might actually be providing useful service with this feature, as they could prevent people from being 'cancelled'.
