There have been so many new preprints and articles published on nucleic acid testing for COVID-19 👏 So we decided to write a review! We've done a quantitative comparison of the costs, workflow, LOD, and more for each method. 👉 https://gitlab.com/tjian-darzacq-lab/covid19_review/-/blob/master/COVID19_review_V7.pdf …pic.twitter.com/ur5LDcQemK

Check it out on Github! We want to submit this somewhere, but our goal was to get it out to researchers ASAP! Share and RT with your colleagues. COVID-19 testing still needs to expand massively and there are lots of incredible, creative solutions out there.

Cool idea! Have you seen any recent reports of toehold switch use to detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA?

It would be useful to mention papers on using saliva sampling as an alternative to a swab as this may be crucial for large scale testing. Also protocols without RNA extraction.

Hi Roman! We do cover many protocols that do not use RNA extraction (see the sample lysis and direct addition section).
