I like to focus on what matters: company research, and reading investing books/letters/memos. All of the following is a complete waste of time, and should be avoided: 1. Reading market news 2. Reading macroeconomic forecasts 3. Checking your stocks any more than once per week
I don't read the WSJ. Any company that I analyze involves, at some point in the process, reading related news and current reports. I do listen to SA's Wall Street Breakfast once or twice a week, but only when I'm driving/in the bathroom. It's not a very constructive activity.
