Ah yes, the airy-fairy article that capitalizes on extremities to evoke ill-founded emotion. In this case, the interviewee worked a job he wasn't suited for, and thus concluded workers "have no control." Guess he didn't live in 1920. Woe to the misconceived millennial.

Oh yeah, his savings rate is awesome. I just wish the article focused on the merits of prudence more, or talked about how workers can gain concessions from employers to improve unideal working conditions, or the risks of over-dependence on indices. 1958-1983; S&P flat.

Yeah if I was them I'd probably buy 30+ dividend payers in this environment, then save excess to buy into low/no-dividend indices at more favorable valuations. At least cashflow would remain relatively unchanged should the market plummet that way.
