    Good to see Labour Housing Portfolio Holder @adamdfox highlighting the lack of affordable housing on this key site. Plenty of time to recalculate and rectify before planning application is submitted.

    also has a housing development company. In developing 4 sites across the Borough - every single site has 30% affordable housing contribution. Meaning 110+ homes available for families & individuals currently in temporary accommodation, and CBC will be the landlord

    Yes, the site is challenging to develop to keep key buildings. Yes, more expensive to develop sites of archaeological interest. BUT for a Local Authority housing dev company to use the term ‘non-viable’ development when affordable housing is factored in - I find that unacceptable

    It’s a shame that currently Essex Housing have no plans for any affordable to rent homes on the site; this would provide much needed housing in an area with great connections for families on our housing needs register.

    Attended the public consultation into Essex Housing proposals yesterday for development of Essex County Hospital site, along with @adamdfox and . Next consultation event is Weds 22nd 4pm-8pm at Colchester English Study Centre, Lexden Road (opposite the site).
