1/10 After the Mueller report, everyone admits that there was a Russian campaign to elect Mr. Trump president of the United States in 2016. Amidst all the noise and spin, this is worth noting and remembering.

7/10 That the president of the United States is a minor player in his own drama is not good news. It means that there are major players to whom he owes debts.

8/10 Russia favored Mr. Trump over both his Republican and his Democratic rivals. Regardless of party, all Americans should want their presidential candidates selected in the United States.

9/10 Russia chose Mr. Trump because of his ability to wreak havoc, "to drive the Western locomotive right off the rails." Regardless of personality, Americans should oppose foreign assaults on democracy.

Insignificant actor??? He was in the center of it & played any part needed at anytime

The "insignificance" to which Synder refers about Trump is that, being a Putin puppet, it's Putin who's significant here. Read Snyder's Road to Unfreedom. It's a well researched tour-de-force that explains why Trump is bombing Yemen civilians.

Insignificant actor, true? I'm not sure this is correct
@SethAbramson -
So ... Tony ... you're contesting Tim Snyder's opinion from his extensive research of matters Russia (Soviet Union) and Hitler's Germany. The evidence that Trump is Putin's puppet argues for his being insignificant (Trump owing Putin millions). What's your data?
