    While the adoption of the Climate Pact has attracted lots of applause in the plenary, the parallel plenary room for observers saw little cause for celebration. The last minute watering down of essential phase out cannot be celebrated. 1.5°C barely alive 😞🔥

    Including over CAD 10 billion since the Covid-pandemic began. So much for "green recovery". The money would better be spent on decarbonization because if climate action remains rhetoric, these heat extremes will become not a 1/1000 year but a 1/10 year event.

    just experienced its most extreme heat ever recorded with over 50°C & >700 deaths. Meanwhile the Canadian govt continues to spent billions of taxpayers money on oil & gas infrastructure that locks in emissions for decades to come. A fatal mistake.
