Wrong, they've both been banned for years for violations of the terms of service. Running for public office does not automatically grant you the right to a Twitter account.

Carl was banned back in 2017, after a number of violations of the ToS.https://www.google.com/amp/s/prodigygamers.com/2017/08/15/sargon-of-akkad-permanently-banned-twitter/amp/ …
-
Wrong. Twitter said they purposefully allow some public figures to break the rules. This means twitter grants special privileges to some and not others. They are putting their thumb on the scale
-
Neither Carl, nor Tommy are POTUS, Tim. One's a YouTube reactionary, the other is a convicted thug. Neither were running for office, or expressing a desire to enter politics at the time of their suspension. Twitter is not obliged to offer them a platform.
-
Twitter just banned carl's campaign. Did you read the story? You think private companies should pick and choose which candidates get access to public forums? We have POPS laws and Equal time rule here
-
Yes! They literally should do what is morally correct and limit free publicity for people with abhorrent and dangerous beliefs! They are still free to run, and free to campaign in the normal, correct and non-hateful way, and oh yeah, headlines about racial slurs....
-
Do you realise how dangerous it is for one side to get to choose what is "morally correct" and what is "non-hateful"? When this is the case they just define whatever they don't agree with as morally incorrect. Free speech is vital to a free society.
-
Not as dangerous as giving a free global platform to a racist - I will never, never agree with you! The free speech weaponisation has gone on too long - twitter is not free speech. It’s a company ffs

Is it more or less frightening that they genuinely believe they are doing good?
-
More frightening because they believe they're enlightened more than us common folks and therefore have a better understanding of right and wrong. How benevolent of them.
-
I wish I was half as smart as they think they are. I'd be a genius.

Preach!!!

Hope Not Hate is similar to the SPLC here in the US. They dig up dirt on right wing groups and individuals, and the UK MSM use them as a "credible source" to write hit pieces. This is the same group who teamed up with BBC's Panorama to produce a hit piece against Tommy Robinson.
-
Its also hilarious that they're going after Sargon now that he's running for government, as opposed to when he was just some harmless Youtuber. Meaning he's a threat to them now. All these "offensive" quotes they're using are taken out of context from hundreds of hours of videos.

Don't like or support TR but if he's running officially for election he should not be censored or disadvantaged against other candidates.
@Twitter totally wrong to do this. -
He spreads hate, Twitter is a service with terms of use which he has repeatedly broken...they're perfectly entitled to ban him. It is nothing to do with him becoming a MEP.
-
And Lammy with his constant name calling doesn't spread hate? And he's an elected MP. Do me a favour.
-
No Lammy doesn't spread hate.
-
He is divisive and he hardly spreads love does he? Calling elected MP's 'fascists' and then saying he didn't go far enough is so peaceful and inclusive. Building bridges and harmony. Are you being ironic?
-
He doesn't incite violence against people in the basis of their beliefs.
-
Calling someone fascist when they are clearly not is a form of violence. Who's to say it doesn't incite violence in ANTIFA. All politicians should tone down the rhetoric.

TWITTER REMOVES Tommy Robinson’s CAMPAIGN Twitter account
