Because Twitter took down their open verification process and the only way to get verified now is to ask for a favor from a crony at Twitter, which I won’t do.

What are your thoughts on optical computing: https://techcrunch.com/2018/02/05/lightmatter-aims-to-reinvent-ai-specific-chips-with-photonic-computing-and-11m-in-funding/ …

Are you speaking to software transactional memory or do you see hardware transactional memory becoming more mainstream? Do you engines leverage this? std::atomic?
-
Nobody has yet created an STM implementation that using many cores beats a normal memory system running on one core without the overheads. So a pure unbounded HTM solution may eventually win, or else perhaps there is a middle ground.

I don't have a clue when. But I think the future of PC hardware is the GPU, CPU and maybe RAM on the same card. Or Phase RAM is also the hard drive. Then the joke of downloading more RAM becomes more relevant.
