you would need to comply with age ratings first, and Valve doesn't do that either. :)

we still need a solution for steam spy; it would imo be acceptable if valve exposed an API where you could query information in an anonymized, non-attributable way

I dont really have an issue with the policy its more about the fact I dont hold my gaming that sacred it needs to be private. Infact I feel achievements and collected items have more value if you can share them with the public, Twitch anyone.

As long as *you* make that decision, great. The decision shouldn’t be made for you. A default setting can exist, sure. Expose to “anyone”, “friends”, “none” is fairly simple options and what we do on Live today.
