This is a flagrantly sensationalized description of the situation. Google published a UWP app that opened Chrome’s download page in a web view. How is that a valuable application in any way? If it wasn’t Google Chrome, people would applaud Microsoft for rejecting trash apps.

In fact, you could already read the rewiews the app got in the first hours. everybody complained about it not being the browser itself

Google had to ship a Chrome Installer rather than full Chrome because Microsoft’s draconian policies require Windows Store apps to use Microsoft’s lousy Edge browser APIs. It’s Microsoft policy badness all around.

Apple does the exact same on iOS, which you have no issue with. Hypocrite. Also, even if you say that the two are different, you calling it "draconian" (which is ridiculous) exposes you.

Not Chrome but its installer, quite different

What’s the difference? If I can’t get the installer how do I get the software? No sarcasm.

too bad some folks miss your greater point here. but yeah. we've been complaining about apple's store policies for years, i guess microsoft decided they want a piece of the shitstorm too

i see why its not a good idea, having apps shipping there own engines. This is something MS actually allows with electron apps, while banning full browsers. Electron based apps shipping there outdated versions, will be (or is) a huge problem.

1. It wasn't the browser at all. It was a link to download the installer. 2. The downloaded installer would not have been able to run on Windows 10 S devices. That's why it was pulled from the Windows Store.

This is wrong enough to warrant a correction. You can't simply blast out this BS as if it were true. MS hasn't banned Chrome, they removed a installer from the Store. Every platform the installer would have worked on can simply install Chrome normally.

If you have to resort to lies and malicious overstatements to push your agenda, you should maybe reconsider it.
