Thanks for sharing. It seems like a reasonable default to prevent click-through running of unsigned apps downloaded from HTTP. Else anyone could release “Adobe Flash Installer” unsigned and trick users.
It is one thing to alert users that unsigned programs are trying to run - and that's not something I necessarily disagree with. It's another thing to bury the option to run said programs inside of completely separate menu that isn't even accessible from warning screen.

With HTTPS becoming nearly ubiquitous nowadays how does that really help? All a malware distributor would have to do is set up a cert with lets encrypt/cloudflare/etc.
