Is this a common language for C++ proposals? "Horrible, terrible, terrifying, disgusted", you'd think this is describing Lexur'iga-serr'roth and not main(). http://open-std.org/JTC1/SC22/WG21/docs/papers/2017/p0781r0.html …

The feedback loop between STL and language core is really destructive. A single library should not drive the development of the language.

I feel the standard library is part of the language and it's becoming more relevant. I appreciate this, as it is better than the alternatives. Everyone having their own is not really scaleable either. Are you not sick of having to bridge between 6 different math libraries?

Haskell is nowhere perfect in that respect since at typeclass definition, you need to define all instances from types not in the typeclass module. And orphan instances are ugly. So, you may end up pulling a lot of things.

One can still only include what is needed. And namespaces should resolve all issues where names clash, one just have to use them on the client side as well. I agree that here are bizarre things sometimes, but the interface of core the traits the containers etc. are not evil.
