@TimSweeneyEpic I guess you were spot on regarding UWP. The current version of the VS desktop c++ SDK, now requires UWP.
Interesting! Can you point to the source? Latest VS2017 preview I installed supports win32 (UWP is an option)

I just installed the latest community version. Trying to use current SDK, also selected UWP. Trying to remove UWP, removed the full SDK.

The only way to get the desktop sdk, without UWP. Was to use an older version of the SDK.
