I've tried other search engines as well, they don't come close. Using duckduckgo for two weeks was terrible.

I think personalized search made the problem worse. It's good when finding stuff you've already looked at before, but awful otherwise.

I really get excited when my search gives me forums posts of other people who had the same problem with no solution posted 3 years ago.

Agreed! I often have to use "allintext:" to get results that ACTUALLY HAVE THE WORDS I SEARCHED FOR. I hate Google these days.
