@aL3891 How do you post an installable UWP app download on the web, as with a win32 .exe or Mac .dmg?

@TimSweeneyEpic as im sure you know, uwps are published to appx packages that can then be bootstrapped by an exe, just like msis/setup.exes

@aL3891 Requiring a win32 exe to install a UWP app creates the risk of win32 deprecation forcing the apps into the Windows Store.

@TimSweeneyEpic @aL3891 And being able to deploy an app package without the Store and without sideloading is now possible. Or soon.

@ThomasNigro @aL3891 I look forward to hearing more at build. Would love to see a solution as simple as Mac .dmg.

@TimSweeneyEpic @aL3891 I'm surprised you don't have access to "those" information about openness etc. Might be the right time to ask!

@TimSweeneyEpic @aL3891 If it eventually leads to more openness from MS and Unreal Engine support on UWP, that would be awesome!

@ThomasNigro @aL3891 Epic would fully support UWP if its openness were on par with present-day win32!

@TimSweeneyEpic @ThomasNigro @aL3891 Given the limitations of UWP (perf, multi-monitor etc). why do you even want it over win32?

@damienguard @ThomasNigro @aL3891 It contains some good stuff, such as an iOS-like permission system that users can trust more than an .exe.

@TimSweeneyEpic Nothing indicates that. Legacy software is probably the biggest contributor keeping Windows relevant.

@TimSweeneyEpic if win32 apps will be forced to run from a sandboxed UWP people will rigourusly demand independance from a centralized store

@TimSweeneyEpic @ThomasNigro @aL3891 Permission system would be cool especially if like Android 6 on-demand rather than at-install.
