People can get their free and cheap games off Steam, whether the storefront funds the discounts or not doesn't matter to the average consumer. Once again, they get the same deals from a better storefront.

I get that unique features aren't easy to come up with, but if Epic had simply come out in a more complete state I don't think people would get so upset over exclusives, but due to the stores initial state it's brought in too much bad blood.

So you consider marketing "investment" as free games and coupons which was pure loss, sustainable? ;-) Be honest and publish how much you lost with that "fair" revenue cut, with all that marketing costs.

so again. this is some basic busines 101 stuff. theres a concept called a "loss lead" where you give something away under cost to attract customers hoping they will buy something else. this is ubiquitous to every store in history basically.
