I truly wish GitHub and Epic got together and improved Unreal Engine so it’d be easy to host projects and collaborate in GitHub. Seeing pre-git versioning systems is... surprisingly painful. Ping some of the coolest CEOs on planet @natfriedman & @TimSweeneyEpic

Are there any projects on GitHub which prove out the tech for large binaries (say, a few TB of sub-1GB files)?

I haven't tried GitHub yet, but I did give
@Bitbucket a try a few months ago. While it did support LFS, it did not support file locking which is an absolute must for non-coders IMO. GitHub apparently supports this though so workflow-wise it should be sufficient. - 5 more replies

Perhaps an idea would be to consider git a "source" repository for each large file with individual assets or elements committed? Subsequently, the large files could be stream-reconstructed/baked-out when specific version needed.
