Epic has done more to promote and facilitate the art of game creation than any other company. Also I met many lifetime friends through the Unreal series.

Strongly disagree. Epic may have been great in the past, but now they're completely anti-consumer with their exclusivity deals, and zero respect for people who buy their products. They are funded by the CCP, and even have Chinese spyware in their launcher.

Exclusives have always been part of our industry and part of business. It’s how you build platforms. It’s not anti consumer if it’s free. Competition is good for everyone in the long run.

As for Tencent’s minority share I’m no fan of CCP’s pressure on American businesses, but I’ve yet to see any proof EGS is loaded with spyware or that Tencent has forced Epic to do anything malicious.

Tencent is not involved in the operation of the Epic Games Store. They're an investor, engine licensee, and China game publishing partner, and have never served as a conduit for government influence on Epic.

You still take money from China, and that itself is bad enough.

China is a country with a billion people and millions of business, each unique. We judge the propspect of dong business with each company in the world on their own merits, and not by passing some sweeping judgment on their nation.

Nice try, Tim. You know I'm talking strictly about the CCP. They control every business in China, especially Tencent.

That’s not true. There are state-owned business in China, but Tencent isn’t one of them. See: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State-owned_enterprises_of_China …

US State Department:Firms such as Huawei, Tencent, ZTE, Alibaba, and Baidu have no meaningful ability to tell the Chinese Communist Party ‘no’ if officials decide to ask for their assistance…Such aid may not necessarily occur routinely, but it certainly can occur—and presumably

What does this have to do with Epic though? Tencent has no access to Epic customer data, no ability to add code to Epic’s software, etc. We’re a US company and I’m the controlling shareholder.

He obviously hates China so he's using it as a smear tactic, even though there's literally nothing wrong with having partners around the globe. If anything the differences between our nations should be complimentary, as western capitalism is dependent on Communist countries.
