At 1:38:11 the co-creator of Crash Bandicoot talk's about his use of Lisp DSLs called GOAL/GOOL using which they programmed the game. Great Stuff! #lisp
@TimSweeneyEpic @ID_AA_Carmack What do you think about metaprogramming and DSLs?

I'm not sure I've seen many examples that justify the legibility tax metaprogramming imposes, with only a few domains (such as ironically programming language development) exempted. I can think of almost zero examples were metaprogramming lead to more maintainable code.

If the goal is to unbound expressive power from language spec internals, something along the lines of the “type systems as macros” paper is needed, modularizing syntax (to some extent) and type system inference rules (to some extent). This whole space is under-explored.

I suppose you guys are working hard on the new scripting language. It would be a dream if it were like LISP. There will be so much possibility with MOP. I'm really curious about how it's shaping.
