They won't let anyone open a market and provide access via subscriptions is how I understand it.

I hope Spotify wins its lawsuit against the Apple app store Apple's 30% tax on third-party apps prevent third-party apps from competing with Apple we as users are missing a *huge* swath of apps that would otherwise be viable in the market due to the 30% tax

not being able to even LINK to an alternative payment route is beyond ridiculous — it's why so many apps have terrible UXs — audible, spotify, netflix I was so confused by audible when I first downloaded audible — how would anyone know that you can only sign-up online? </rant>
