I have no idea the economics of this. I can only imagine that digital gift cards are sold at a slight loss as standard to attract customers who primarily use bricks and mortar stores. Otherwise why would stores bother stocking them for zero profit?

Let's have some realtalk, Tim: Your digital storefront != Steam. A game with VBucks also isn't Steam. So, what you are saying is that you don't know Steam's actual costs and are assuming.

He knows how much steam costs Epic. 30%. It also costs me as a dev that much. That extra percentage can make or break a studio. Seriously, if devs get to pay their rent, people get to enjoy better games.

I don't think "propping up GOG" is really a good idea. GOG needs to stand in it's own merits, succeed or fail. Same with EGS, Steam, et al. What Epic could do is not bribe publishers into blocking supply from Epic's competitors. Let the stores stand on their own merit/features.

It seems like one, because no matter what feature steam has, you keep telling us that it wouldn't increase the overall cost to maintain the store Heck if it isn't so bad, then why doesn't epic just make a epic balance, inventory, profile customization, family share and remote -

- play just like steam has? I'm willing to bet none of what I mentioned is planned, and you have no idea how much any of those would even cost you. Yet you say it barely increases. How do you know?
