My point is that there are no unknown games on EGS. Epic picked ones specifically that already had a lot of interest. Therefore, one can make no claim as to discoverablilty of unknown games. As I said, Epic had primarily benefited publishers.

Many developers are self published on EGS. I think you're cherry picking TBH. There's really no arguing around the basic fact that EGS is better for developers on the bottom line. 18% vs 30%. Plain and simple. Numbers don't lie.

Yeah there are actually tons of indies on EGS. So not sure what Morty is on about. They literally just had an indie sale and there were loads of games I had never heard of before.

All those games sold on EGS I had heard before they went exclusive, because they were either wish-listed/posted on Steam, talked about on youtube and forums, and even posted on Twitter as well. EGS is not bringing these to the forefront, the rest of the net is.

Just because you knew every single one of them (press x to doubt) doesn't mean the everyone else did. Certainly not the millions of EGS users that are not Steam users. Beyond that, to get good ROI, it makes sense to make business deals with companies that have marketed well.

Actually a lot did, but you just choose not to see that, because it harms your personal narrative and viewpoint. There are millions more on Steam, as well as everywhere else on the net that knew of these games via journos, youtube, the devs themselves talking about their games.

Beyond that, it makes more sense to want to sell your games and reach as many people as possible, rather than settling for exclusivity and short term deals, with just selling to one store, and not the rest within the same day.

See you seem to vie for console level exclusivity deals on a platform that has remained open for many years. Exclusivity, selling to less people in general, is never a good idea, and you cannot say that to everyone, myself included.

Steam is doing more to bring console style lock ins to PC than EGS has. Locked in friends list. Locked in controller. Locked in mods. So many aspects of PC gaming have been unnecessarily locked to Steam. They're just a store on windows though. Games on EGS work on Windows too

I wasn't aware EGS allows for friend lists to be made anywhere, without using EGS's own network restriction? Locked in controller?, I'm sorry what?. Steam supports more gamepads than any other client ever has. Mod support is also not locked in either.

The Epic friend system is used by several multi platform games already (including Dauntless) and we’ve announced we’ll be opening it up to all developers, supporting all platforms and all stores.

Android is an open platform and play store is the google store, not the official store.
