Yeah, I believe many of us would want that. Same with progression and achievements. Just look at The Witcher 3 recent cross save function on PC and Switch

But we have a way to go. Capcom, Activision, Square Enix and Rockstar pulling out of GeForce Now for example. Why can't our copy of RDR2 bought on EGS be played there? Not that the Steam version can, but rumor has it that Valve is working on their own cloud data center.

I think this would benefit publishers too. Though they’ll make less money from folks buying the same game twice, they’ll make more from additional sales given the increased confidence players will have that they’ll own their library for the long term.

Exclusives or not. People who dislike Tim and/or Epic Games for this specific reason need to educate themself. Tim's ambitions towards PC and console gaming is highly pro consumer.

Yeah I'd sure like to have bought into a Kickstarter that promised a physical PC copy with game data on the disc and own it "everywhere", rather than a disc only containing a launcher that barely qualifies as a PC launcher by the standards of the AOL disc era it feels like.
