GameStar, a German PC publication, did a survey and found 43% of readers used the Epic Games store, vs 95% for Steam. Quite an amazing install rate after just 15 months! And GOG is doing very well too. (Credit to r/fe for finding this)https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/steam-ist-bei-euch-doppelt-so-beliebt-wie-der-epic-launcher,3354200.html …

e.g The game devs were given a large amount of money as a bribe to be platform exclusive with Epic games.

http://dictionary.com ’s definition #2 is a silly trivialization of the word, under which any willing exchange of value between anybody would be a “bribe”. If we accept these trivializations, then impotent words used in discourse would be devoid of all meaning.

I quite literally got that definition from http://dictionary.com ; so paying a game dev company prior to sales to force them not to sell on other platforms isn't just that. That certainly seems to fit the description of bribery that I have read. *shrugs*
