Galaxy 2.0 is their 2nd generation launcher. They ran their store for years with no launcher at all even. By bringing them up as an example of a good launcher, you might also be interested in knowing that it took them time to build that.

Galaxy 1.0 was there for a very long time (agreed, not as long as http://GoG.com  has existed) - but that was just an example. But GoG didn't go out and try and screw over consumers by buying a game and preventing it from going on steam either...

I really don't think that paying the devs more money to sell their windows game on EGS instead of Steam is screwing over anyone. Other companies have zero reason to respect your brand loyalty. It's not screwing you over since it's the same game on either store.

You don't think so? So I can buy Borderlands 3 on Steam right now, right? No? How about Metro Exodus or Phoenix Point? Mech Warrior 5? That didn't screw me over as a consumer?

Whatever store they're sold on, they're Windows games at the end of the day. It's not anti consumer to not care about your brand loyalty

And you ignore the issue: Epic bribed the developer to only sell on their store. How is that NOT anti-consumer? Imagine wanting a burger - going to get one and they said "well, your city doesn't sell burgers. we're chicken only. You need to go over there to get a burger."

Oh really? "Bribery is defined by Black's Law Dictionary as the offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting of any item of value to influence the actions of an official." Did the regular employees make the decision to accept the offer? Quit ruining the industry.

You’re missing the point. A bribe is a secret payment made to an individual illegally to influence a decision of their organization. When two businesses openly negotiate and sign a business deal and exchange value, that’s a normal business deal.

Ok so replace bribe with paying you to stab your customers in the back. Hey remember how metros a week from launch say by to steam workshop no mods for you oh does that make you mad well just wait a year

It’s okay to just disagree with the practice of store exclusives without turning it into a bribery scandal or a stabbing.

The issue is not really exclusivity, but that some games were announced for a platform and change it after announcement. There is nothing to do with rules or rights, in my opinion this kind of move it's not fair. Now publisher/dev having they opinon about it and consumer too.

The platform is Microsoft windows. Steam is just a sales platform not a software platform. For the most part, PC gaming is the win32 platform
