What do you call it when they chop down North Carolina forests, ship the wood on a diesel powered barge to Europe, then burn it in a power plant? “Green Energy”https://www.newsobserver.com/news/business/article238395173.html …

This. For instance for solar panels people tend to neglect impact and energy required for mining the materials, manufacturing of said panels, transporting them as well as maintaining them.

I am definitely not saying "let's not do this, let's not improve our environment", what I wish for is people to consider all the data. This is something that needs to be solved through logic, not emotions and we can't do that if information is either not available or neglected.

Unfortunately energy is deemed good or bad through PR and lobbying, leading to absurdities. Duke Energy was pressured into not expanding the zero-emissions power plant that serves all of Raleigh including Epic, while the woods nearby are being chopped down and burned.

I'm not familiar with that case, but this kind of absurdities happen everywhere. But you need to adress that to ruling politicians, not to some kind of "fake" movement.

This is probably true for any kind of energy source, fossil & renawable.
