How do you feel about Apple’s App Store tax in comparison to Google’s?

Pull Fortnite from Apple store, then. Show them that you don't agree with their revenue split with your actions.

Fortnite is available direct from Epic where that’s allowed (PC, Mac, Android) and in the platform stores where it’s not. This is just an artifact of the 30% fees though. We’d be on Google Play and Steam if either fees were 12% or less, or we could process payments ourselves.

You are 100% certain that Fortnite is welcome on Steam if they took 12%? This isn't just something you are saying because you are certain it never will happen?

Yes, we’d do it. Just as we’d put our game on Google Play if the terms were significantly better.

whats bad about with googles tos?

The core problem with Google Play’s terms of service is that they require games to use Google’s payment service exclusively, for which they take a 30% fee. They need to allow developers to process payments themselves, establishing fair competition for payments.

This 30% fee is crazy because normal payment processing services like Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal take fees in the range of 2.5% to 3.5%, which shows that the actually cost of payment processing is far lower than what Google takes. (Same with Apple.)
