You are 100% certain that Fortnite is welcome on Steam if they took 12%? This isn't just something you are saying because you are certain it never will happen?
-
Yes, we’d do it. Just as we’d put our game on Google Play if the terms were significantly better.

Apple Music on Play store doesn't uses Google's IAP services. Since, I have a credit card saved with them, When I signed up for a Apple music sub, They automatically charged my card without showing any prompt asking for payment details. Wasn't this possible with fortnite?

Is 12% still enough to earn a profit?

Yes. The Epic Games Store’s operating costs for most transactions are in the range of 5% to 7%, covering payment processing, download bandwidth, and customer service.

I'm curious: Considering the security risks of exposing people to non-play store content, why don't you roll the remaining 18% to the users and publish the game to the play store at +18%, while still allowing people to get it outside of it? Sounds like a win-win.
