@TimSweeneyEpic Hey Tim! I was wondering if you would be willing to release numbers for games sold on the EGS when they have same day availibility on Steam. (Such as RDR2. Bloodlines, and Cyberpunk(which has sold more on GoG than both epic and steam according to CDPR)) ty in adv

What exactly are you thinking you will find with numbers like that for those games?

Just education. I have been debating with friends on the viability of the EGS without the exclusives. So I just wanna see the numbers.

We've been digging into this topic quite a lot. The numbers highly vary. Some are really low and some are over 30% Epic. I'll see if the team can share significant details at GDC to help developers understand the opportunities.

Then the developers wouldn't be getting the best deal they can that can lead to good things for us consumers, and the Epic store would not ever become a catalyst for a really good change for the industry that would be good for us consumers as well.

Humble Store takes 25% after transaction costs, Discord announced they would take 10% in Jan 2019 and announced that after Epic Store was announced.

Epic hasn't damaged anything. Every single good change in industry is going to have a very loud insignificant number of people complaining about it, mainly because they lack the ability to see the bigger picture. Steam went through the same exact thing in its earlier years.

If the cohesion of PC gaming is due to a store with 90% market share and store-locked social features and 30% taxes then yes, by all means we should break it and rebuild it around open services.

You preach that. Again I ask. As someone who doesn't like indie games. What benefits do I get as a consumer? I don't see any of that 88/12 trickle down to me. I still am paying $60+ DLC and microtransaction for games. Is EGS going to solve that?
