Lol 30%-20% is not fee for promote game. It's for most complex services on the market for developers/publishers and customers. 12% from Epic is for much worse services from any point of view. And even that bonus like shorterm loan will diassapear with Fortnite money.

Well now it isn't. In the past it used to come with great exposure, personal service from Steam reps. Now they pay 30% for automated and self service, no promotion, while Valves costs have gone down over the years.

You have absolutely no idea about Valve costs. And is not necessary to repeat that fairytale about your imaginations based on "similar working experience".

We have plenty of experiencing operating these kinds of services for ourselves from 2014-now and for third parties from 2018-now. The all-in cost of operating a digital distribution service is well under 12%.

You haven’t created a service which people login to and browse for hours and have discussions on etc. You have a glorified launcher with a shop tacked on. You can’t compare the two. Sure if you were at the scale of steam you may find it’s below 15% or 20% etc.

But valves business model is service delivery and keeping everybody angry with lack of HL3. Your business model is micro transactions and licensing your game engine then blackmailing the publishers to use your platform to absorb the costs.

blackmailing? really? Why not come out and say you have no valid argument at all, instead of making up some kind of BS accusation like that? Got to love how the anti-egs people have no valid arguments so they go with the conspiracy angle of Epic committing all kinds of crimes

Lol conspiracy. If epic didn’t go around stealing and bribing for exclusives and actually tried to play in the same field as the other players I wouldn’t have an issue. But they decided to play dirty. Epic is like the old Microsoft.

Blackmail is an illegal act, you are accusing them of doing blackmail. Epic didn't steal anything either, the dev/pubs voluntarily put their games only on EGS. There is no bribing because it is a legal business transaction. Stop making false accusations of Epic breaking the law.

The verbs truthfully describing Epic’s partnerships with developers and publishers are: offering, paying, and exclusively selling. The folks using the terms blackmailing, bribing, and stealing are manipulative and dishonest.

If one wants to hate Epic and the way we’re changing PC game distribution, it’s perfectly fine to do that based on the actual facts. It doesn’t require descending into this bizarre edge lord alternate reality where Epic financially supporting developers is “bribery”.

It's the same thing that almost ruined the Xbox brand at the launch of Xbox One. Microsoft wanted to force always online, removing our choice. You are buying exclusives, also removing our choice. MS reversed their decision and gave us the choice back.

Today Microsoft is competing with Sony by releasing good game, services and features. Not buying exclusives and removing our choices.

You change nothing, only charge less for less. You subsidy your store development, customer prices and exclusivity loans by Fortnite money. Market reacted opposite to your "exclusivity way" with less locked games on one store.

Steam changed PC distribution not you. Epic has done amazing things for the gaming industry like cross play and Unreal Engine plus Fortnite is a quality game. As for those bribery accusations I agree that this is overreacting, but forcing an unfinished launcher is another story

i have an idea where in setting you could choose which season to play in. like if you choose season 1 it will have the same gameplay as season 1 did back in the day. so no builder pro and 90 damage scar headshot. it might take up a lot of space but it will make the game fun again
