vague wording. Its been a year with a bunch of failed exclusives, and some 'working'. What now? Why doesn't epic start buying games that are willing to go cheaper on their store so they can get more competitive? like world war z did?

Imo, better to keep prices the same and use the extra money to make better games.

I disagree, higher budgets does not always equate to better games, nor does it mean they'll actually use the extra money for their budget. They can just store it

Not always of course, but it can. Better to give them the opportunity to do better than not having the opportunity.

This! More money = better game is such a bs argument. Look at all those big publishers and their output.

Yes. Lower taxes + competition + time = lower prices + higher quality products.

Now the factor "time" is your fallback? Reality proves you already wrong. As I said, just look at the output of several high value productions.

Yeah, as I said a while back: "After you go through several cycles of game developers making decisions, you're going to see lower prices as developers pass on the savings to customers, realizing they can sell more copies if they have a better price..."

I mean, if you believe that consumer prices are not affected by the costs of production and distribution, your argument isn’t so much with me but with free market economics or with arithmetic.

Well yeah but in no point of time your exclusivity money or lesser fee has made our prices better, so that's what we're arguing against

Who'd argue against free market economics? I'm sure everyone agrees that a reduced cut of vastly greater sales is better. It's why artists use record labels. Oh wait, I know who argues against that by bribing publishers to force developers to take a bigger slice of a tiny pie.

I generally believe in free market mechanism for sure. The point is, I don't believe, that this is your intention nor the intention of your exclusive publisher partners.

We all know Timmy doesn't care about consumers. He's all but said it. And we know damn well that executives will pocket the few extra rubles. The entire argument is garbage.
