Jedi Fallen Order is an amazing game and is swapping in and out of #1 on Twitch beside Fortnite featuring the Stormtrooper outfit. It’s on Origin, Epic, Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. THIS is the new multi-store world and it’s awesome!pic.twitter.com/zBqFtAHlaK

I mean: there are lots of stores competing for customers, developers, and publishers in interesting ways. Jedi: Fallen Order highlights that both Epic and Valve offered EA sufficiently compelling terms to make the game available alongside Origin, breaking with prior precedent.

I mean: what is "NEW" to this? Not that Steam, Gog, Origin, Uplay, MS Store, Humble, GreenMan, Playstation, Xbox, Switch etc. wasn't already there.

The market a year ago could be summarized as Steam, big publishers who took their ball and went home, and upstarts who hadn’t gained traction. Now there’s Epic, Microsoft Game Pass, GOG Galaxy 2.0, and lots of big publishers breaking with past distribution norms.

all those other stores would have come to the point they are right now without EGS existing, you're still the one that takes games away from other stores while spouting a "multi-store future" and people go to the places that give them the best deals...

so of course Gamepass is booming right now, you can play nearly 200 good quality+ games for 1 dollar for your first month or so, and like only 5 after that. it has nothing you do with you or your store, but rather the heads at Microsoft who are innovating...

The new entrants each have significant business model innovation on the supply side and consumer side such as Epic’s 88/12, free games, Fortnite integration; MSFT subscription model, GOG multi-store launcher. This is now having a demonstrable impact on distribution decisions.

"Gosh it's so great we're so overloaded with digital storefronts a company has found it beneficial to create a multi store launcher to streamline the process of downloading 80 separate programs" Also it's great we now have COD integrated into all programming. Ok, Drone.

Existing before these services that most likely were in development years before you came out with EGS does not mean you helped create them you melvin.

Yes, of course these are all independent efforts. GOG came many years before Epic Games Store. More store competition = more opportunity and better deals for developers!

They weren’t getting significant traction a year ago. Now Microsoft is, and I expect GOG will soon follow as they go out of beta.
