Tim, I get that publishers like money, but why should a customer prefer EGS over Steam? What is your pitch to customers?

A free game every week, Fortnite, some great exclusive games, and more of the games’ purchase price goes to developers.

Free game every week is not a benefit for paying customer, it's store promotion for everyone. Fortnite is game, not benefit for customer who is buying 3th party game, purchase price goes to developers is degraded with much worse customer experience with store.

I'd rather pay for a game on Steam than get it for free on your store, it's called paying for the convenience. Steam provides a service I'm willing to pay money for, you haven't earned that privilege. Money can't buy you love.

And, what they do with it is their choice. He upsells that 88/12 split as if he knows the money he throws at them is going to be used for improving their existing games, or creating another. It's possible, sure. The CEO pocketing the money as a "Bonus" is equally possible, though

Ubisoft also sell breakpoint yearly pass for around $30. When they are at steam it was season pass price. nice way to pass the savings right.

free games, keep em coming :), great exclusive games (debatable), more of the games purchase price goes to developers... and what do they have to show us for the extra monies? the worst developer, client interactions the industry had seen in years. Then same prices less features.

Free game every week... Fair. Fortnite. But I don't like Fortnite. Great exclusives. Except they wouldn't be... that's a "We made a problem and sold the solution" situation. More money to devs. Except people are asking why a CUSTOMER would want to shop.

To put some emphasis on the "Exclusives" part... if it was simply games being exclusive on your platform that WOULD be a plus in your favor. However, given that these exclusives were derived from creating a breach in trust with playerbases, it's actually a negative for your shop.
