So do Google and Apple. Doesn't mean it isn't greedy, and that taking less isn't better.

Epic has announced plans to go after Google too, EGS is intended to launch on Android as well. Unfortunately, Xbox, PlayStation, and iOS are on closed platforms: Until legislators require third party markets, EGS can't compete with them.

It's unsurprising after the games Google played to with both P0 and PR to try and screw with them for releasing Fortnite outside of Google Play. Epic is going to take out the trash.

Epic's not building a search engine. They're building an Android game store. (I recommend DuckDuckGo for search though.) Also, Google is a terrible company run by literally terrible excuses for humans.

I use DuckDuckGo everywhere too! Google search really has degraded over the past few years so it’s almost useless for technical topics.

DDG is mostly imperceptibly different, results-wise, but of course, the privacy bit is key. And Google's business model is problematic and harmful to the entire web content industry, so, you know, not supporting that is nice.
