Hi Mark, we’re still in the early, hand-curated days of the Epic Games store where we can only accommodate a small number of releases. See the launch announcement:https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/announcing-the-epic-games-store …

Exclusivity opens up a lot of possibilities for launch partnerships that don't make sense otherwise. For example, with an exclusive, Epic can invest very significantly in marketing a new indie game, knowing that all the benefits accrue to the developer and the Epic Games store.

Limit the game's exposure to only 1 launcher open up what possibilities? Especially for indie title, expose to as many places as possible is the best way to get people buying it. Right now, all the exposure that EGS exclusive indie game is just bad PR and people hating on it.

That’s fair. However, when buying games (or physical products, or watching streaming shows) I select titles based on factors including availability and a willingness to shun exclusivity. I don’t go out of my way for specific products, I buy what’s where I’m already shopping.

I also tend to shop around for good deals. By definition, this doesn’t work with storefront exclusivity.

I really do not understand. How can a title be good enough for an exclusivity deal, but not without it?https://youtu.be/pqDa04atSXw
