between the epic store fallout and this recent, gleefully reported story about the respawn developers, we need to be prepared for executives to turn steam forums and subreddits and discords against their own studios in the face of union pressure

Little question about this new integration because I know that I will at a moment of another having an EGS games. Will be there an option to just ask a Steam key instead of EGS key if the exclusivity deal is over ?
-
Developers and publishers are free to sell non-exclusive games through Humble as Steam keys, as Epic Games store direct purchases, or support both.

Given your thin margins that means you're charging upfront through wholesale payments and then taking a 0% revenue split. There's no way you could absorb the losses on EGS keys externally otherwise.
-
The cost of bandwidth we provide for free games and games sold through digital resellers aren’t significant relative to the revenue we make from games we do sell.

Then why we can't get a Steam key instead? Why the game is being paid to be exclusive to one launcher? Player shouldn't have choice to choose which launcher is best suit for them?
-
You can just wait until the exclusivity agreement ends and buy it wherever you want. This isn't a serious problem.
