Is it right to guess that Humble specifically is a partner with EGS games because the Humble widget can potentially allow devs a ~95% cut if they can sell keys there?

Epic and Humble are partnering on a direct, keyless purchasing integration so developers and publishers who sell through Humble can do it even more efficiently.

There are two separate sets of relationships here: Epic and Humble are integrating our purchasing systems so that Humble purchases are recognized on Epic. However, all deals to sell games or keys are between Humble and the game’s developer or publisher, without Epic involvement.

Sorry if I was unclear. Green Man Gaming’s partnership is with 2K, not with Epic. In cases like this, Epic provides Epic Games store keys to our developer/publisher partners, and they make the keys available to their key distribution partners under terms they negotiate.

Everyone would benefit from greater transparency on store fees. While all of Epic’s distribution partnerships are based on the same 88/12 split, many other stores negotiate revenue sharing terms with specific developers and publishers which differ from their advertised terms.

The store will be opening up more widely over time as we build in more automation for developers to submit games and maintain their product pages, and as we build more useful curation and search functionality for surfacing a larger catalog of games.

Include lying and false promise. If they just "add" EGS as an option, no one care. That's why you pay big money to make the games not on Steam since this create noises, bad PR is better than no PR right?

At least in the case of MechWarrior 5, according to their AMA, as I stated before and was further clarified by linking the SidAlpha video on the topic, one of the developers has stated that the deal was signed in April. And like I said before, honesty is the best policy

They know if they immediately announce the Epic exclusive, it will hurt their sales and got tones of bad press. The publisher wants people to order more while thinking they can get it on Steam and hope some of them will be kind enough to not refund when their Steam copy is gone.

The decision to move to the "epic" store appears when they see the money, they knew about it for months and dodged questions about exclusivity, some even still making customers believe it'd be released even multistore, but remembering you "there's not such right for users" right?

I'm ok about the developers having the choice... But I'm not when we use it as an excuse after a long promotion time and sometimes some "bonus money". In my view it look more like an abuse of another system breaking the promise at the end and that is bad !
