We’re doing all of those things, but they take varying amounts of time to complete. There’s a limit to how quickly Epic can spend money to accelerate features, as there’s a limited number of developers with the right expertise, and it takes time to find, hire, and onboard more.

My current breakdown of the cost of digital distribution is roughly: payment processing for predominant payment methods: 2.5-3.5%; customer service 1.5%; bandwidth and hosting 1%.

not just these services. it should also be taken into account that steam has a de-facto monopoly on pc gaming. sell on steam or die, play on steam or play alone. valve is hyped by the press and their monopoly gets well defended by the press and players alike. who supports epic?

exclusives on steam are common. but people don't even notice since where else would they buy or play? but sell a single game exclusively in the epic store and all hell breaks loose. quote, valve: "unfair to our customers". where is the free advertising for epic? they gotta pay...
