The developer announced the exclusive forthrightly, as all of the Epic Games store exclusives have been announced. It’s true that they didn’t announce it before their announcement, but that’s a long way from lying!

If they are all good points, why don't you follow them? - What's the reason for going for an exclusive when they already have a public facing representation in other stores - Why only bring a exclusivity deal to public once there is a late trailer a EGS logo there.

those are the 2 main reasons for most of the backlash, metro exodus and shenmue suffered some awful backlash for it, why make them go through that if going forward and telling the prospect players as soon as you reach a deal would help for a smooth transition.

This may be late, and this may be at this point repeating talking points, but SidAlpha's recent video covering the issue with MW5 - https://youtu.be/rp_eocF-Dqc is probably the best way to understand what I was talking about and trying to get across, for the record.

This is why I feel it is best for developers to be honest, and straight up about deals, because as is pointed out in the video, he states deal was finished in April, they knew this would happen, when FAQ SNAFU happened, they should have merely stated it openly and dealt with it.
